12/17/09- I just wanted to send you a quick update on our Mazie! She's doing amazingly well! She loves her daily walks, gets along well with other (LOL) and is getting ready to go grandma and grandpa's house for her first Christmas cross country trip! She'll also be meeting our grandbabies for the first time. That doesn't worry me in the least, she loves kids! My husband keeps comment that she belongs in a home where she's the only "child" though! The "boys" are just such rambunctious pups that she gets tired of them trying to play. She is really a devoted girl and so happy for attention. She loves being brushed and her coat is finally starting to get a soft texture and shine. She seems to be shedding all the old coarse hair. I'm amazed at how much I can brush from her daily. I'd be bald if I lost that much hair! I hope you and your family (both two and four legged) have a wonderful holiday! I finished wrapping today and Mazie decided to get right in the middle of everything! Oh, well life is just too boring without at least one weim!!! Merry Christmas! Thanks so much for bring Mazie into our lives! Love, Jan
Update: I just wanted to update you regarding Mazie. She's really become one of the family and is doing great! For the most part she and the two "boys" are getting along well. She and Rowdy occasionally "lock horns" but for the most part are doing well. She follows me everywhere and does great on the walks with husband or me. She learns very quickly and I only wish that the two pups minded as well! I can now trust her when I'm working in the flower beds in front of the house (outside of the fence) and she goes with me. She still would like to follow every bird, rabbit, or person but when I tell her "no" or whoa her she listens. Shes also a turned into a real love bug. She loves to wake us up by jumping in bed in the morning and licking our faces! If we try to hide our faces she gets her big paws in on the action and tries to uncover us! I only wish I could have known her as a puppy or that she could tell me her history!
Thanks so much for all your help! I keep watching the adoptable weims but then think that 3 dogs are about all that I can handle and give the attention that they deserve! Maybe when the puppies are older, I'll rethink this!
Take care and stay in touch!
Jan Bower
