We must charge a fee so that we can continue to do the work we do.  The amount you pay for your dog is not necessarily his worth or the amount we have put into him.  There may be times when it is not necessary for us to put out money for vet bills, etc. on a dog.  But the next dog may need 5 times the amount of his adoption fee in vet bills.  This allows us to give those dogs really in need the care that they deserve.
