It is hard to predict how often we will get a dog in -- we can go an entire month and not have any dogs surrendered but then the next month all of a sudden have 4 dogs in 1 week needing placement into a foster home.  As for how often you would be expect to have a dog -- it all depends on you – whatever you can comfortably handle.  We have some foster homes that are only available to foster certain times of the year, some that foster one time and that’s enough for them.  Some people prefer to foster and than need a bit of a break, and some that just foster dog after dog because that’s what they like to do. 
So its a combination of how often you would like to foster along with how often we get a dog in that we think will mesh well with your household.
