We adopted seven-year-old Salvo four months ago in late Oct.  He came to us via his original owners from Pittsburgh.  They loved Salvo but their young son had developed allergies and they had to find Salvo and his brother Shane new homes.  Enter us into the picture... a Weim-loving family with two working parents who need a trained and mature dog to fit our personal situation.  That's the power of the Weim Rescue organization.  They provide that vital connection between families like ours!

Salvo was obviously a very loved dog when he first arrived.  He warmed up to us and our two teenage children immediately.  We are a very active family, and Salvo looks forward to his daily walks around the neighborhood and goes along for runs and hopefully soon some trail bike rides. He came to us fairly heavy and has been able to loose about 28lbs to date.  He still has a few more to go but he is enjoying his new weight.  We swear he "smiles" right at you, showing his pink gums,  when he's been exercised and is happy.  We know it was difficult for his original owners to say goodbye to Salvo, but as he greets each of us at the door everyday with the same enthusiasm as the day before...we can't imagine life without him.
